Trans Lineage 2026 Auditions Are Now Live!
We are seeking an ensemble cast of 4 Los Angeles-based actors of trans/gender expansive experience to play multiple roles across three distinct stories. Celebration Theatre's Trans Lineage program is an annual commitment to developing new stories for the stage that illuminate transgender and gender-expansive narratives across time and cultures.
In its fifth year (grown from original project Tales of the Transcestors), the program brings life to new works rooted in trans lineages of past, present, and futures.

Following an international search, three writers of TGNC2S experience were commissioned to each create a new 20–30 minute one-act play exploring the theme Desire Lines. Those works were developed this summer during our 2026 Playwrights Lab and will be presented as World Premieres December 5-15, 2026, in co-production with Outside In Theatre in Highland Park.
Trans Lineage may be the only commissioning program of its kind to cultivate new plays by trans/gender-expansive playwrights from pitch to full production. Playwright submissions will open again in Spring 2027.
