Ricky Abilez (they/them) is a Queer, Latine artist and educator who centers restorative justice in their work as Director of Policy & Advocacy at Arts for LA. They believe in celebrating our rich cultural diversity and empowering Queer youth to be the leaders of tomorrow. They’ve taught a self-developed curriculum in using art for social justice at high schools across the country and have worked as an actor/producer at performing arts organizations like South Coast Repertory, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, The LGBT Center, and The Ford Theatre. Ricky previously served as Education and Community Partnerships Manager at 4C LAB, Associate Diversity and Inclusion Consultant at McCoy Rigby Entertainment, and Executive Assistant to Dr. Eric Cervini. They hold a BFA in Theatre Arts from Cal State Fullerton and an MPA in Education Policy and Policy Analysis from the University of Colorado Denver. www.rickyabilez.com
