Celebration Theatre is a life force in Los Angeles, woven into the fabric of our vibrant city.
Because of our relationship to the community, Celebration Theatre is committed to service through the arts. Not only do we produce award-winning live theatre, but we also collaborate with many other civic organizations who often look to us to give voice to their needs within the community.
We have partnered with the City of West Hollywood, The Los Angeles LGBT Center, The LGBT Youth and Senior Center, The Los Angeles City Council, Hollywood Schoolhouse, The Midnight Mission, The Downtown Women’s Center, and many other arts organizations producing work both in LA and around the country.
We are producing participants in the Homeward LA Project. Proceeds for this annual event go directly to The Midnight Mission and its work assisting the homeless in Los Angeles. We established the annual Chuck Rowland Award, recognizing the work of exceptional theatre artists in the LGBTQ community. And in 2019 we held our first WriteHer New Play Festival, which featured new works written by, directed by, and starring women. Partial proceeds for this event went to the Downtown Los Angeles Women’s Shelter.
